This exhibition brings into focus the often overlooked diversity of plant life in a city, using Göttingen as a point of reference. A selection of delicate, hand-embroidered botanical portraits is presented alongside to a physical collage of dried wild-growing grasses and a wall of 100 flower photographs of local plants. In contrast, a video installation interprets the inhospitable character of urban spaces from an unusual perspective. Anticipating the gallery exhibition, an Instagram account featuring notable sites of urban nature in Göttingen functions as an online extension of the project. By merging a particular attention to detail with a heightened awareness of diversity, the exhibition challenges viewers to look more closely, conveying a fascination for the common yet quiet richness and beauty.
