How will we remember flowers after plants have gone extinct? A project about imagining the absence of plants and an attempt to remember the lost, connecting the fields of plant extinction, plant blindness and plastic pollution. The sculptures were realised during a one-month studio residency at Kombinat e.V. on the grounds of the old cotton spinning mill in Leipzig and shown at the open studio event as well as the Kombinat group exhibition of the Spinnerei Galleries' Winterrundgang 2024.
* plant extinction: species are going extinct 1000 times faster than usually. up to this day, the extinction of 571 plant species is documented.
** plant blindness: human inability to see or notice plants in one’s everyday life, failing to recognise the role of plants on earth
